Mieke is a passionate couples and sex therapist who is thrilled to be opening her private practice in Greenwich, Connecticut. With a deep commitment to helping couples and individuals navigate the complexities of relationships, Mieke understands the profound impact a healthy relationship can have, not only between partners but on the entire family.
Mieke’s specialized expertise in clinical sexology is a unique aspect of her practice. She has spent the past decade studying human sexuality, allowing her to provide specialized support to individuals and couples seeking guidance on sexual health, intimacy, and sexual identity.
Mieke’s approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, which she learned from her mentors at Northwestern University and in the field. She is grateful for their guidance, which has fueled her passion for helping others.
Above all, Mieke’s goal is to help her clients live authentically and thrive in healthy, happy relationships. She achieves this through her compassionate and client-centered approach, which is dedicated to supporting individuals and couples on their journey towards personal growth, healing, and fulfillment.

Our counseling interns are graduate students at Northwestern University in the final stage of their clinical training, offering therapy sessions under the close supervision of Mieke Stapelberg, LPC. Working with an intern can be a wonderful opportunity to receive high-quality therapy at a lower fee while supporting the next generation of mental health professionals.

Marissa is a graduate-level counseling intern from Northwestern University, pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices that promote self-awareness and emotional resilience.
She enjoys working with adults and couples navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. Marissa believes that healing begins with feeling understood, and she provides a compassionate space where clients can explore their emotions and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
All sessions with Marissa are closely supervised by Mieke Stapelberg, LPC to ensure high-quality, ethical care. She offers both in-person and virtual sessions at a reduced rate as part of Greenwich Counseling’s training program.

Ashley is a graduate-level counseling intern from Northwestern University, completing her master of science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She approaches therapy with empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each client’s story.
Ashley works with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking support for anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. Her therapeutic style integrates mindfulness, attachment-based work, and cognitive-behavioral strategies to help clients feel grounded and empowered.
She is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive space for clients to heal, grow, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
